About me:

I grew up in Miami, Florida. I have two brothers (ages 34 and 27) and two sisters ( ages 40 and 24). I attended Leewood Elementary in Kendall, St. John Neumann for middle school, and Our Lady of Lourdes Academy in South Miami for high school. I am the graduating class of 2004. I played varsity basketball all four years and was the team captain and point guard of my team. I also ran the 400 and the 4x4 during Track season. After high school, it was encouraged by our school counselors to leave Miami for college and so I did. I received an academic scholarship and graduated from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL with a Bachelors in Family and Child Sciences in 2008. I majored in child development, minored in political science, and had a concentration in business. I KNOW! I was all over the place. While in FSU I participated in many organizations and clubs, including the Women's Club Basketball team in which I was the vice president and the LADY Spirit Hunters, which was an athletic team-spirit organization.

I have my Professional Educator Certificate in teaching for Middle grades English 5-9 and my professional educator certificate in Guidance and counseling K-12. While being a teacher, I went on to receive my Masters of Education degree in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama in 2010. I taught for five years from 2008-2013 and was given the opportunity to be a Mater Academy school counselor and of course seized the opportunity. Then from 2013- 2018 I was a counselor at Mater. Throughout the time I was a school counselor, I counseled high school and middle school students. I also was the TAP coordinator and liason for any girl who became pregnant during high school. I also was the Athletic liason for student-athletes.

I married in December of 2008 to my husband Andrew. He is a full time basketball skills trainer as well as the head varsity coach of Columbus High School and we own a basketball training business together called Miami Hoop School. We are blessed with four adorable children. Our beautiful 8 year old named Kylani, our 5 year old boy/girl twins (Dylan and Elly) and our 2 year old boy Jaylen. Between 2018-2021, I have been running a business and taking care of four kids and am excited to be going back to doing what I love aside from being with my family.
